The Other: A Maze (TOAM) • My virtual-reality quasi-videogame challenges players to make their way through a maze of disorienting social-media overloads, Covid outbreaks, dehumanizing telephone help-desk bots, consumerism “assaulting” them at every corner, and more. Social justice and tolerance are promoted in a non-preachy manner. I was fortunate to have talented graduate students assist me in building-out the environment.

Tempi are coordinated (or not!) with a built-in metronome. This particular ensemble perform via real-time instructions they hear over their headphones, played on their smartphones or other .mp3 player (filmed and incorporated into a video wall in a gallery).
